Peak District Photography Workshop with James Grant and David Speight.

Join myself and David Speight on a one-day workshop to photograph some of the best spots in the Peak District. With decades of experience between us and an intimate knowledge of the Peak District, you can be sure you are in the best hands possible. As a small group, you will have plenty of time for 1-2-1 and we will explore and discover some of the ultimate locations to photograph in the Peak District.

The Peak District has so much to offer from rolling limestone fields and deep-side limestone ravines in the White Peak to the wild moorlands of the Dark Peak.

We will start with a meet and greet to get to know each other and the other photographers. We then visit some of the best spots in the area, taking a break for lunch around 14:00. We will be working up to sunset getting you prepared for the magical golden hour.

Throughout the day we will look at basic techniques such as focusing, use of filters vs exposure blending, composition, working with the light and much more. By the end of the day, you will be ready to capture the sunset in its full glory.

Sunset is approx 18:45, leaving almost a hour after the workshop to discuss what you have learnt and ask any questions you may have. We will be on hand throughout the day for any questions and my focus will be on ensuring you have the best day possible. If time permits, we will look at editing a couple of photos on a laptop while having lunch. The photos on this page show some of the places we may visit and the type of photography we will be looking to ultimately capture.
