I am delighted to announce and bring you a photographic workshop with a little more adventure.

Join me on a one-day workshop to follow in the footsteps of the ramblers who ultimately granted us our freedom today to our uplands. Walk the Kinder Scout Mass Tresspass Walk with plenty of photographic opportunties during the day.

We will start at Bowden Bridge and head up to the plateau of Kinder Scout via William Clough. Once we are on top we will take a short break for some food and explore some of the viewpoints at the start of the Western Edges. We’ll move along across Sandy Hey’s keeping an eye out for more photographic opportunities before finishing up at Kinder Downfall for sunset. The downfall is an awesome place for sunset and the sun at this time of year will be in prime position. After sunset, there’s a fairly long walk back which should take us around a hour following Kinder Low and back down. If the group is comfortable, we can stick around to photograph the moonlike landscape under the full moon and make our way back down the dark.

This is a route I have walked many times, so you can be rest assured you are in good hands.

We will meet at 10:00 to do a meet and greet with myself and the other photographers and from here head on up William Clough. We will break for lunch around 12:30. During this time of year, the light is good throughout the day and great images will be able to be taken all day. Sunset is at around 16:15 with around a hours walking back from Kinder Downfall.

Throughout the day we will look at basic techniques such as focusing, use of filters vs exposure blending, composition, working with the light and much more.

There will be a maximum group size of 3 meaning there will be plenty of 1-2-1 time. I will be on hand throughout the day for any questions and my focus will be on ensuring you have the best day possible.

This workshop is suited for all levels of photography but is especially great for those who want to explore some of our higher areas with a good working knowledge of their camera. There will be a large element of walking between stops, so we will work towards having you ready and knowing your camera for sunset but there isn’t as much time to prepare you as a traditional workshop which is at a more relaxed pace.

Please note, a good level of fitness is required as this is a hillwalking day. The pace will be fairly slow and relaxed but the whole route is around 8 miles.

If this date isn’t suitable for you, please let me know as I may look to run this workshop again on an alternative date if there is enough interest.
